AirStudio S1 is a DAW-compatible compact studio condenser/enhanced dynamic mic with built-in wireless in-ear monitors along with a full audio interface and mixer that works seamlessly with mobile devices, desktops, laptops and recording setups.

HISONG AirStudio S1 REVIEW
The Airstudio S1 solves a big problem for creatives and content creators who often need to capture high quality audio at remote locations, or at the spur of the moment without the need for bulky hardware, mics, headphones and cables. All you need is the S1, which includes wireless earbuds, and a smartphone and you can record pristine audio anywhere without cables.
To cable or not to cable?
The S1 connects seamlessly to your smartphone, tablet or computer for seamless recording via the included wireless receiver…or…you can use USB C for greater reliability. The internal interface and DSP provide all the tone shaping and reverb for the microphone and all in one sleek ergonomic device. The unit worked flawlessly in my tests with both wireless and wired connections. And the sound is fantastic with lush reverb and near-zero latency recording.
Compatibility
I used the S1 with Pro Tools on the desktop and on the Samsung S24+ using the stock video app, Blackmagic camera app and Easy Voice recorder. All worked fine when recording with the supplied USB C cable. I did have glitchy audio with the Blackmagic camera app in wireless mode and found that this is a compatibility issue when using bluetooth devices with the Blackmagic app on Android and not a fault of the S1, per se. Hopefully this will be resolved with future app updates. Audio worked fine in wireless mode with the stock Android camera app.
Conclusion
This is a very cool unit with great sound and ergonomics. My review was done using a pre-production unit and I will be posting a long form review and video when my production unit arrives. I look forward to trying it out for mobile reviews at the NAMM show in January, and as a quick capture device for song ideas on the go.
