A detachable speaker module turns a headless electric guitar into a self-contained practice-and-play rig.

Donner introduced the HUSH X LIVE and HUSH X LIVE PRO at Sound Messe Osaka 2026 over the May 16–17 weekend, marking the international debut of the first electric guitars in the HUSH series to integrate a detachable speaker module. The module combined guitar, amp, effects, and Bluetooth backing-track playback into one instrument. HUSH X LIVE was built for players who want to practice anywhere and start a session on the spot. HUSH X LIVE PRO was co-designed and tuned by Japanese guitarist MIYAVI, in his role as Donner’s Creative Director, for players chasing stage-grade specs and modern electric tones.

MIYAVI, Creative Director of Donner Music, said
“We tried countless ways to find the right way to put the amp into the guitar. We wanted to break the line between the stage and everyday life. On stage, off stage, wherever you are, you can still rock out.”

Modular Speaker System

The HUSH X LIVE platform is built around a detachable 5-watt speaker module. With the module attached, the guitar functions as a self-contained rig for practice rooms, small venues, or impromptu sessions. Detach it, and the guitar returns to a compact headless electric ready to travel. No separate practice amp required: plug in the module, dial in a tone, and play.

Tones and Onboard Effects

HUSH X LIVE ships with the HUSH™ X ’23 Original pickup configuration (Alnico V humbucker at the bridge, Alnico V single-coil at the neck) and five onboard amp simulations: JC (jazz clean), TW (American clean), AC (British overdrive), 800 (classic distortion), and MES (modern high-gain), each paired with cabinet modeling. The speaker module includes built-in delay, reverb, and modulation effects with a noise gate. Front-panel controls cover Volume, Gain, Tone, AMP select, and TAP tempo. Bluetooth input streams backing tracks alongside the guitar signal. I/O includes 1/4″ input, 1/4″ output, 1/8″ monitor output, and USB-C for charging.

Headless, Lightweight Construction

Both models use the HUSH series’ headless neck-through build with a quick-release stand system for daily carry and on-the-move playing. The base HUSH X LIVE features a 7-piece African mahogany (Khaya) neck-through body. HUSH X LIVE PRO upgrades to a kiln-dried Canadian hard maple 7-piece neck-through body with a Canadian hard maple / maple composite neck. Both share a 25.5″ (648 mm) scale, 22 medium rounded stainless steel frets, bone nut, satin finish, and Donner’s patented headless bridge tuning system.

MIYAVI Collaboration — HUSH X LIVE PRO

Following the Double Swords pedal series, MIYAVI continued his work with Donner on the HUSH X LIVE PRO project. He shaped the signature headstock, refined the neck profile (the MIYAVI Refined Neck, based on a standard C-shape), voiced and selected the pickups and amp simulations, and customized the soft stand-cushion material to match his playing style. The PRO’s MIYAVI-co-tuned Alnico V single-coil / humbucker pair pairs with seven amp+cab simulations also tuned with his input, A/B dual-channel switching for instant tone changes, and a special-voiced 22 nF / 200 VDC circuitry inside the body. The signature bundle ships with a MIYAVI-exclusive custom guitar bag, co-branded strap, co-branded packaging, an exclusive expansion stand, and an artist hang tag.

“When I first saw Donner’s HUSH guitar series, we started asking what the guitar of the future should look like, and how far Donner could take it. Portability matters, and a guitar should be no different. It shouldn’t be limited by the venue or the gear. That’s been my hope all along, and finally, here’s that guitar: the HUSH X LIVE PRO.” said MIYAVI.
