The Kingfish Telecaster® Deluxe offers improved playability, growling overdriven tones and a shimmering Mississippi Night finish

Pioneering a new generation of blues, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram is known for his charismatic warmth, powerful vocals and blistering technical skill. Hailing from Clarksdale, Miss., Christone “Kingfish” Ingram represents a new kind of blues musician. His gregarious personality, powerful voice and fiery fretwork transcends genres and generations.

Influenced by both blues greats like Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins and B.B. King and more modern game-changers like Jimi Hendrix and Prince, Kingfish has developed a style all his own.

He started playing at an early age, learning under the tutelage of Bill “Howl-N-Mad” Perry and Richard “Daddy Rich” Crisman at the Delta Blues Museum’s arts and education program. By the time he was 11, Kingfish was playing bass proficiently and then moved on to the guitar. His switch from four to six strings eventually led to regular club gigs around town — while he was still in middle school.

With unmistakable talent and an undeniable spirit, Kingfish’s legend has only grown, and with each milestone, he’s added something new to his arsenal.

He has recorded with blues icons like Eric Gales, Buddy Guy and Keb Mo, and even performed with hip-hop innovator Rakim and indie-pop stalwarts Vampire Weekend.

His ability to inject new life in such a time-honored genre has extended his reach far beyond blues devotees alone, and that growth not only showed with his acclaimed 2019 self-titled debut album, but perhaps even more so with his Grammy Award-winning follow-up, 662.

CAPTURING CHRISTONE’S TONE

To celebrate Kingfish’s accomplishments — with more surely on the way — Fender teamed up with the young phenom on the Kingfish Telecaster Deluxe, a guitar worthy of his raw magnetism, heavy tone and haunting riffs.

Outfitted in a mesmerizing Mississippi Night finish that looks almost pitch black in the dark with shimmering purple accents in the light, this signature Tele is built to his exact specifications. Two Double Tap humbucking pickups are custom-voiced for tight lows, punchy mids and smooth highs, with a comfortable “V”-shaped neck taken from a Fender Custom Shop model he’s had for a few years.

Pair it with the great intonation of an Adjusto-Matic bridge and the classic feel of an alder body, and this Telecaster Deluxe is ready to take blues to the next level, whether in the studio or on the stage.
