PRS Guitars has officially unveiled the Silver Sky Defender Color Collection, an eight-guitar limited run created in partnership with PRS Signature Artist John Mayer and British 4×4 brand Land Rover Defender.
Drawing inspiration from Mayer’s personal 20-year ownership of an Arles Blue Land Rover Defender, the collection pairs famous automotive finishes with custom pickguard plastics, dedicated custom neck plates, and painted headstocks designed to match contrasting Defender roof treatments.
The collection splits eight distinct colorways between the USA-made Core Silver Sky series and the budget-conscious PRS SE Silver Sky line.

1. USA Core Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition
Limited to 500 guitars per color worldwide (2,000 units total). Features white pickguards and control knobs (evoking classic white 4×4 roof configurations), matching painted headstocks, a custom Defender-branded neck plate, and ships in an ATA molded hard case bearing the Defender badge.
- Arles Blue: Inspired by open coastal roads and Mayer’s personal vintage Defender.
- Willow Green: A nod to hedgerows, stone walls, and countryside dirt lanes.

Offered during a limited ordering window ending in midyear 2027 (unlimited production volume within that window). Features black pickguards and control knobs—a first for any Silver Sky model—matching the contemporary black roof trims of modern Defenders, alongside a custom Defender gig bag.

Philanthropy: British Racing Green Charity Edition
In addition to the retail lineup, PRS is building an ultra-exclusive run in British Racing Green. These guitars will not be sold in retail stores; instead, they will be auctioned off to raise funds for the Defender Service Awards and John Mayer’s veteran health charity, The Heart and Armor Foundation.
