At the heart of the AC MINI is an all-analog, 10-watt solid-state architecture powered by the newly developed Vox Dynamic Response Circuit. Pushing sound through a single 3-inch Vox original 8-ohm speaker, the amplifier is engineered to replicate the dynamic response, natural compression, and rich harmonic characteristics typically associated with classic tube amps. The all-analog design ensures that the amplifier delivers sound with real body and presence.
The tone-shaping section centers on an intuitive, two-channel control panel modeled after traditional Vox AC layouts. The analog circuit is designed to preserve the natural character of different pickups, from single coils to humbuckers, and responds dynamically to pick attack and guitar volume adjustments. For additional gain and sustain, an onboard BOOST switch pushes the preamp into expressive overdrive, introducing harmonic overtones while maintaining musicality across the full sweep of the controls.
For spatial effects, the AC MINI features an onboard digital reverb specifically developed and voiced by the Vox engineering team. Designed after extensive analysis and critical listening, the reverb emulates the warmth, subtle movement, and character of a classic spring reverb tank, adding natural depth and sustain to the signal.
The top control panel provides a direct 6.35 mm (1/4 Inch) instrument input jack alongside a 3.5 mm stereo mini-phone AUX input and a 3.5 mm stereo mini-phone headphone output. The AUX input allows players to connect to a smartphone, tablet, or external audio device to play along with backing tracks, while the dedicated headphone output enables quiet practice sessions. The unit operates via an included DC 12V AC adapter (1A current consumption, 12 Watts power consumption).
Housed in a wood cabinet with a bass-reflex porting design, the enclosure leverages the material’s balanced mass and natural resonance to optimize low-end response and overall frequency balance.
