Both guitars feature classic ES-335 thinline, semi-hollow construction with three-ply maple/poplar/maple and a solid maple center block for enhanced sustain and outstanding feedback resistance, but each is voiced and styled to match its era. The ES-335 with classic 50s-era character

The Gibson ES-335 50s delivers classic late-50s character with the era-correct feel, look, and tone that players gravitate toward. Built to capture the spirit of the earliest ES-335s introduced in 1958, it offers a distinctly vintage experience while preserving the model’s legendary versatility. Its semi hollow, thinline body uses traditional three-ply maple/poplar/maple construction, paired with a solid maple centerblock for enhanced sustain and strong feedback resistance. Single-ply cream binding on the top and back completes the clean, vintage-inspired silhouette.

A mahogany neck carved to a substantial Rounded C profile provides a full, comfortable handful, matched with a bound rosewood fretboard featuring 22 medium jumbo frets and classic acrylic dot inlays in true “dot neck” style. Vintage Deluxe tuners with keystone buttons and a Graph Tech® nut support reliable tuning stability, while the headstock is finished with a mother‑of‑pearl Gibson logo and crown inlay.

Hardware includes an ABR‑1 Tune‑O‑Matic™ bridge and an aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece for strong sustain and precise action and intonation adjustment. A pair of Custombucker pickups with Alnico 3 magnets delivers the sought‑after warmth and nuance associated with early Patent Applied For humbucker™ tones, routed through hand‑wired 500k volume and tone controls for each pickup and a three‑way toggle switch.

A ’59-style five-ply long pickguard plus gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers completes the 50s aesthetic. Finished in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer—Vintage Tobacco Burst, Vintage Natural, or Ebony—the ES-335 50s ships with a Gibson hardshell case and channels the enduring appeal of the earliest ES-335 designs.

The ES-335 with a distinctly 60s character

The Gibson ES‑335 60s delivers a distinctly early‑’60s take on the iconic semi‑hollow, built for players who prefer a faster neck feel and the slightly brighter, punchier voice associated with that era. Designed with the same player‑choice philosophy that made Gibson’s 50s/60s-inspired lines so enduring, it pairs vintage-correct styling with the versatility the ES‑335 is known for.

Its semi-hollow, thinline body follows classic ES-335 construction with three-ply maple/poplar/maple and a solid maple center block to enhance sustain while significantly minimizing feedback. Single-ply cream binding on the top and back adds a refined, period-appropriate finish.

True to early-60s originals, the mahogany neck features Gibson’s SlimTaper profile for a sleeker, faster feel. The bound rosewood fretboard features 22 medium jumbo frets and small-block acrylic inlays for the unmistakable 60s look. Grover® Rotomatic® tuners with milk bottle buttons, paired with a Graph Tech® nut, provide exceptional tuning stability, while the headstock is appointed with a mother-of-pearl Gibson logo and crown inlay.

An ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum Stop Bar tailpiece anchor the hardware, delivering excellent sustain with precise control over action and individual intonation. Electrically, a pair of calibrated T-Type humbucker pickups with Alnico 5 magnets captures the character of vintage Gibson T-Top humbucker™ tones, wired through hand-wired 500k volume and tone controls for each pickup and a three-way toggle switch for the wide tonal range that has defined the ES-335 for generations.
