Hand built basses from French luthier Sebastien Aquilina

Aquilina basses are musical works of art. Sebastien’s elegant design, choice of woods, electronics and understated appointments meld to create a beautiful and eminently playable instrument. The Shelby, inspired by and dedicated to the spirit of the Ford muscle car, is fast and sleek like it’s namesake. And it has plenty of power with the installed Aguilar super single pickups and Glockenklang preamp.  This bass sings with enhanced harmonics due to the composition of carefully selected and crafted tone woods and a sonically chambered body.

Aquilina basses are incredibly easy to play with low action and easy reach all the way to the top of the fretboard. The Shelby basses are lighter than many other 5 string single-cuts and balance at just the right angle without even the slightest hint of neck dive.

Seb’s basses are rare. He builds about 30 per year by hand doing all the work himself. Aquilina basses are available direct from his workshop in France or from the Luthiers Access Group and Bigguy Music.
