Japanese Craftsmanship Meets American Acoustic Guitar Tradition
Hodaka Guitars proudly announces the launch of its exclusive acoustic guitar collection, a rare collaboration between legendary Japanese makers Moridaira and Korg. Limited to just 60 handcrafted instruments for the initial collection, Hodaka Guitars unite generations of woodworking mastery from Matsumoto, Japan, with cutting-edge engineering, honoring the American acoustic heritage while introducing revolutionary NuTube electronics for today’s discerning musicians.
Each Hodaka guitar is meticulously shaped from premium solid tonewoods—Engelmann Spruce tops paired with Indian Rosewood or African Mahogany backs and sides, and African Mahogany necks with smooth Indian Rosewood fingerboards. These materials are hand-selected and matched for resonance, balance, and tonal depth, reflecting the essence of classic American acoustic design.

At the heart of every Hodaka guitar is Korg’s bespoke NT-3 electronics system, powered by groundbreaking NuTube technology. The NT-3 preamp and pickup configuration deliver natural, rich acoustic sound with musical compression, exceptional clarity, and dynamic tonal control. The newly developed PVDF pickup and 3-band EQ are optimized for acoustic resonance, ensuring the guitar’s true character shines on stage and in studio.
Only 60 Hodaka guitars will be produced in this initial collection, each handcrafted by master luthiers who voice, finish, and refine every detail with uncompromising precision. This collection embodies the convergence of heritage, engineering, and artistry—crafted to inspire players and collectors for generations.
