Nuvo N28 Stereo Ribbon Microphone and TDI Duo Direct Box Honored at 41st Annual NAMM TEC Awards
AEA Ribbon Mics was recognized with two TEC Awards for Outstanding Technical Achievement during the 41st Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards, held on January 22nd at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. AEA’s Nuvo N28 Compact Stereo Ribbon Microphone received top honors in the Microphones – Recording category, while the TDI Duo Dual Phantom-Powered Direct Box won in the Production Essentials category.
Now in its 41st year, the NAMM TEC Awards are among the most respected honors in the pro audio and music technology industries. Presented annually by The NAMM Foundation, the awards recognize the individuals, companies, and technical innovations behind today’s sound recordings, live performances, film, television, video games, and other media.

After receiving numerous nominations over the years, these wins mark AEA’s first TEC Award victories, representing a milestone moment for the Pasadena-based manufacturer and its continued work advancing ribbon microphone and signal-path technology.
“We’re grateful to the NAMM Foundation and the TEC Awards voting community for this recognition,” said Julie Tan, CEO of AEA Ribbon Mics. “The ribbon microphone world is a small, close-knit community, and the support we share within it is something we truly value. It meant a great deal to have our friend John Jennings of Royer Labs accept the awards on AEA’s behalf.”
