iFi Studio, a new UK-based pro audio brand from Abbingdon Music Research (AMR), launches with a portfolio of products suitable for professional and home studios and live sound, by professionals who demand no compromise to sound quality.
Based near Liverpool, the birthplace of modern music, iFi Studio is the creation of AMR, a company that has been at the forefront of audio engineering since 2001. Its esoteric research has found its way into many high-end audio products and now, with the launch of iFi Studio, into its own range of pro audio electronics.
iFi Studio is headed up by Miles Roberts. Previously Miles was MD of PMC and before that held positions with SSL, Euphonix and Studer.
Launching iFi Studio, Miles, head of global sales, comments, “Our experience within the audio research and development sector has enabled us to develop a range of products that will bring the very best audio quality to professional users. Whether it is in the most advanced and world-leading studio, in a home or portable studio setup, or on the road in a live situation, we have a product that will enable the users to experience exceptional performance when recording, mixing, mastering or playing live.”
The launch range comprises of five products which cover the categories of converters (D/A), interfaces, controllers and headphone amps. From a personal ‘belt-pack’ IEM/headphone amplifier to the flagship interface/controller for serious studio use, the products benefit from cutting-edge technologies such as ‘quad-stack’ Burr-Brown D/A chipsets offering ultra-high resolution file handling, and fully separate power supplies for digital and analogue stages.
“We won’t compromise the designs to make the products to a specific target price,” says Roberts. “Our philosophy is simple: we utilise the core technologies developed by AMR to make them perform better than others in their specific categories.”
The launch products are:
Pro iDSD Studio – the flagship interface and controller with class-leading D/A conversion.
Pro iCAN Studio – reference-class headphone amplifier compatible with any headphone sensitivity.
ZEN One Studio – a compact D/A converter with high resolution file handling.
ZEN CAN Studio – a matching headphone amplifier and controller. Combine with the ZEN One Studio for a full interface/controller/headphone solution.
Gryphon Pro Pack – personal ‘belt-pack’ amplifier for IEMs with built-in high-resolution D/A converter.
iFi Studio launches with distribution in place across North America, UK, Europe and Asia Pacific.
