HUG Ukulele pays homage to its home state with the introduction of five new Island Ukulele models. Being unveiled at the 2023 NAMM Show in Anaheim, Ca, each Hawaiian Ukulele Island ukulele features a unique design and aesthetic inspired by one of the most beautiful places on earth, the Hawaiian Islands. Players can choose among the sweet and light tones of the Soprano, the bold and resonant Tenor, or the nicely balanced Concert ukulele. If they wish to electrify their island rhythms, they can plug in with the Concert Electric or Tenor Electric and cut through the mix like a shimmering Hawaiian sunset piercing through the palm trees. Authentic and durable, Hawaiian Ukulele’s Island Ukuleles are the ultimate portable instrument to evoke the sounds of the Aloha State.

HUG Ukulele’s Island Ukuleles are crafted with premium materials, ensuring superior sound and durability. Each model is made with a high-quality layered mahogany top, back, and sides, a smooth okoume neck, and a sapele fretboard and bridge, which together provide a well-rounded sonic character and excellent playability. The bone nut and saddle and Aquila® Nylgut® strings further enhance the sound quality, delivering an ideal balance of tone and projection.

The Island Ukulele models have a classic satin finish that protects the tone wood and doesn’t detract from their natural resonance. The distinctive sound hole and etchings are an imaginative representation of the Hawaiian Islands, curving around the mahogany top and serving as a distinctive focal point. The HUG Ukulele Wave headstock is elegantly curved, providing an additional touch of elegance and island style.

HUG Ukulele’s Island Ukuleles are made to stand out from the crowd, making them a great choice for both beginners and professionals alike. For players who want to make a bolder statement, both the Concert Electric and Tenor Electric models feature the HUG UK 1 ukulele pickup for stage amplification. The pickup is discrete and easy to operate, preserving the instrument’s natural look and tone.

Retail pricing: Soprano – $95; Concert – $107; Concert Electric – $147; Tenor – $120; and Tenor Electric – $160.
