1. The Super Dreadnought Concept (Standard Series)
Martin took their blueprint for the classic dreadnought andscaled it up to create the Super D-18 and Super HD-28. The primary design goal was to boost pure acoustic volume and low-frequency depth without muddying the mid-range.
- The Air Volume Shift: By expanding the body footprint by 13%, Martin increased internal air capacity by one-fifth. This acts like a larger speaker cabinet, creating a massive, piano-like bass response.
- Structural Support: To handle the increased surface area of the top, Martin utilized Forward-Shifted Golden Era Scalloped X-Bracing. This keeps the massive soundboard flexible enough to vibrate freely under heavy flatpicking.
- Pure Acoustic Design: These guitars ship entirely unplugged (no electronics). This preserves the solid wood rims and lets players choose their own premium aftermarket pickups.

2. Molly Tuttle Artist Series
Built in collaboration with bluegrass star Molly Tuttle, these models are optimized for speed, precision, and the aggressive string attack required for flatpicking.
- Vintage Neck Geometry: Breaking from modern wide-and-thin trends, these models feature a narrow 1 11/16-inch nut width paired with a chunky, authentic 1940s neck profile that fills the hand.
- Rear-Shifted Bracing: By moving the internal X-brace slightly further back from the soundhole, Martin stiffened the top directly around the bridge. This speeds up note decay and prevents overlapping frequencies during fast solos.
- Visual Theme: Standard models feature a customized moonphase pearl inlay running down the fretboard, a distinct light-blue vintage hardcase, and a faded sunburst finish.
- The High-Pressure Alternate: The scaled-down D-X2E Molly Tuttle version swaps the solid back and sides for scratch-resistant Mahogany HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) and adds a built-in Martin E1 pickup for touring durability.
3. The Road Series Bifurcation
Martin reorganized their entire Mexican-built catalog into two distinct stylistic camps, eliminating confusion about which model fits which type of guitar player.

4. Limited Collector Run: O’ahu K-42 Hibiscus
At the absolute high end of the press preview, Martin unveiled an architectural hybrid limited to just 100 instruments worldwide.
- Structural Blueprint: This model marks the first time Martin has anchored a 14-fret neck onto a compact 12-fret body shape. Shifting the bridge location lower on the lower bout sweetens the overall EQ, creating a natural, built-in reverb effect.
- Premium Timber: Constructed with highly figured Hawaiian Koa for the rims and back, topped with a torrefied, dark-burst Sitka spruce soundboard.
