Douglas Blue Feather

Earth SongsDouglas Blue Feather returns to his mellow roots with Earth Songs, a CD of music for meditation and relaxation. The moody collection of 16 songs transports the listener to the forest with the sound of the surf crashing just over the next hill. Danny Voris, who began his collaboration with Douglas on their 2010 release Rollin’ Like Thunder, really shines on fingerstyle classical and steel string guitars. This is Douglas Blue Feather’s best meditative work since his Native American Music “Flutist Of The Year” Award Winning CD, Ride The Lightning in 2003.

No Rollin’ or Thunder Here!

Ranging from classically inspired to mellow jazz to blues, all selections on this CD are mellow with a relaxing energy that is soothing in tone and tempo. This may be the most “pure” collection that Douglas has produced in that there are minimal overdubs and just a hint of reverb and other effects. I would recommend this CD as a compliment to a romantic dinner or an accompaniment to a massage or yoga session. If you need to relax – this is the music for you. Not recommended while operating heavy machinery.
